One year after the self-release of the "Dead In The Dollhouse" demo EP, which gathered much positive feedback from fans and music environment, SadDoLLs found themselves again in the studio to record what would become their first full length debut album.
After the departure of some members during 2007, SadDoLLs ended up with what would be the best alignment to carry on with their plans for the future. The band's sound changed and became heavier, leaving space for more experimentation with different styles of gothic music as well as developing elements from electro and metal influences.
The band has performed in numerous venues in Athens, collaborating with several remarkable bands from the Greek music scene.
Amongst the live shows that SadDoLLs have put on, they achieved to perform as the support band for the German Gothic Rockers "Lacrimas Profundere" back in April 2008, receiving many and very good reviews from the media.
Their debut album is called "About Darkness", it includes 12 tracks and has a total length of almost 50 minutes. The whole album development took over 12 months to complete throughout 2008-2009, combining the great cooperation and ideas between the band and "Fragile Studios"
In 2008 SadDoLLs signed with "Emotion Art Music". Under their promotion and management, the album's release was set for October 2009 along with two video clips "Watch me crawl behind" & "Misery". The band also had two live appearances on Greek TV channel shows such as MAD's "Mad Day Live" and Ant1's "Radio Arvyla".
In September of 2009, SadDoLLs had the honour to open the gig for "Paradise Lost" in Athens, giving a great performance and receiving very good reviews. That was a great chance for the band to promote the new album and become more famous.
In the mid of October 2011, SadDoLLs finally finished their new album called "Happy Deathday".
The band currently signed with the Italian Record label "Lunatic Asylum Records".
Concerning the new album,"Happy Deathday" we can say that the new record has a big variety of influences and styles combined with an agressive-heavy sound along with electronic elements.
To describe it better: it sounds like Killswitch Engage playing HIM's Razorblade Romance Album.

Kritik:
Heute habe ich ein Scheibchen rausgekramt, was schon einige Tage auf dem Markt ist, aber dennoch nicht vergessen werden sollte, das aktuelle Album von den SadDolls "Happy Deathday". Das Cover ziert eine nette Bluttorte, nicht gerade einfallsreich, aber minimalistisch-schön. Die Fülle des Silberlings ist mit knapp über 50 Minuten und 12 Tracks + Bonustrack auch ok. Dann geht´s jetzt ans Eingemachte, die Musik. Die griechische Truppe beginnt mit einem schönen Intro welches mit düsteren Electrobeats auffährt, mal sehen wie elektrolastig der Rest wird. Der erste Song ist "Killing Sorrow" und besticht durch Klänge die sofort im Ohr hängenbleiben, ein leichter Touch von Ville Valo lässt sich nicht verbergen. Ok, ich bin gerade richtig gut beeindruckt, hier ist der Sond wirklich super aufeinander abgestimmt. Weiter geht es mit "Bloodred" was zwar auch gut melodiös herüberkommt, aber leider zu elektrolastig für den Track ist. "Be Darkness" ist dann ein etwas schwerfälliugeres Stück was komplett anders als die Vorgängertracks klingt, was dem hier schön variierendem Gesang und den harten Riffs zuzuschreiben ist. Bei "Criminal Of Love" glaubt man jetzt endgültig ein Stück von einem HIM-Album erwischt zu haben. "The Drug" ist dann wieder etwas frischer und schwungvoller. Der nächste Song "Psychedelic Love" ist für mich bis jetzt der schwächste Song des Albums, irgendwie greifen die einzelnen Songstrukturen nicht gut ineinander, der Track hakt und läuft unrund. "Dying On The Dancefloor" ist die Albumballade, ein wirklich schöner Song, aber auch hier glaubt man der Herr "Valo" würde am Mikro stehen. Der nächte Track "Amanda Blood" kommt mit einer guten Geschwindigkeit und schönen Harmonien daher, gefühlvoll und dennoch mit Power, jupp - der Song vermag es zu gefallen! "Embrance The Dark" ist ein wenig anstrengend da hier durchgehend nervendes Klavirgeklimper eingesetzt wird, was sehr monoton den Kompletten Songaufbau zerhämmert. "Coma Song" ist der ruhigste Track der Scheibe und hier wird dann die schöne Art präsentiert wie man mit Pianiklängen umgehen sollte. Jetzt kommen noch 2 Bonustracks "Watch Me Crawl Behind" (Bonus) & Bloodred (Bonus track, Mandragora Scream Remix), der erste kann auf ganzer Linie Überzeugen, geheimnisvoll und düster-rockig kommt "Watch Me Crawl Behind" daher, ein echtes Sahnestückchen zum Schluss. Den Remix von Bloodred hätten sie sich allerdings sparen können. Fazit: Bis auf 2 recht schwache Tracks fährt das Album einige wirklich gute Geschütze auf, zwar klingen die Herrschaften hier und da wie HIM, was aber nicht wirklich stört. Beide Däumchen nach oben, hier gibt es 8 von 10 Punkten.
